PEEP MY PEEPS!
If you follow my Youtube channel than chances are you already know that this lovely lady is my sister Ambar.  Being my sister means she reaps the benefits of my make-up addiction and also gets free makeovers all the time.  This particular look was on Christmas eve and I pulled out an old faithful, black smokey eye w/ brown crease. After a layer of too faced shadow insurance i layed down MAC greasepaint on both lids staying below the crease and blending the edges.  Than over that I packed Lancome The New black eyeshadow on top of it.  In the crease i used my fav brown from MAC saddle.  I don’t remember what highlight i used but your favorite will do. I kohl rimmed the eyes with black kohl liner and applied a healthy coating of mascara.  Concealer was applied as needed and buffed in with a large fluffy brush.  I used Chanel bronze universal all over Ambar’s face to even her skin tone and add warmth.  Mac warm soul blush was added to the apples of the cheek and La Mer the powder in translucent was applied as a light highlight.  On the lips I lined and filled her lips with a Pinky Neutral liner and topped it with Bare Minerals 100% natural Lipgloss in sugar cookie.  Never fails!

The immigrants of today lack the same institutional support and challenge that our predecessors had. There are several reasons for this:

- Weak political organizations whose patronage system has been curbed by “reform”

- a weakened church plagued by self-doubt and scandal

- an ethnic media that promotes nativism over Americanization

- an education system that caters to bureaucracy and interest groups rather than to community

- an outdated civil rights empowerment model that served the African-American community well in its day, but has limited use for the immigrants of today

- a leadership that is reluctant and averse to assimilation efforts including instituting a sound English Language acquisition policy

- and a cynical mainstream media that is threatened by mass communication and which scandalizes every nuance of civic involvement

Blago and Madigan Hug it out

Awesome video of an “emotional” IL Delegation breakfast today. Jesse Jackson Jr. crying, hugging Daley and then Madigan and Blagojevich have a moment too.

Maybe that goes back to the police academy,” he said. “Maybe you need to train them to interact with the community—to get them out here when they’re training. Listen, you wouldn’t put a reporter on the job if they didn’t know how to talk to people and listen to people, would you? We shouldn’t either. Especially us.

As y’all know I have some insight into the police academy…and while he has a good point, there is community interaction during training. I think the problem is a lot of times you have people from two completely different worlds interacting—and that’s where the problems start.

Michelle Obama first pumping with the ladies on “The View”. I think she is a great example of an American modern woman. I thought it was funny my mom thought her dress was too revealing. Of course I loved it!
